Shaqtus Tree Setting Roots In Boston . . . and what about the Stompers????

This is certainly great news for anyone making money in sports media or writing op ed pieces. Shaquille O'Neal at 38 will have flashes of offensive power but will struggle to play defense - not a news flash - but his willingness to be a media personality will give fans something to talk about. in the last 2 days, I have seen Shaq shoot threes with Dale Ernhardt Jr, drive a race car, get his ass kicked in a spelling bee with a 5th grader (spelling words I have never seen), and has signed a 2 year deal to play backup center for the Celts. My guess is that Boston is good for Shaqtus Inc, and basketball will be a 15 minute a game hobby. . . .
I thought I knew a lot about music - J Geils Band and WPI, Aerosmith and Lake Sunapee, Billy Squier, and Norman Greenbaum (Spirit in the Sky), but Joan Baez grew up in Belmont? The Globe listed the top 50, their top 50, but what about Sal Baglio and the Stompers . . . . how about The Fools?? 1980 was a huge year for them. The Neighborhoods? Rick Berlin - Berlin Airlift? Farrenheit? Beaver Brown? NRBQ? Apologies to any Mass bands I leave out that made a splash . . . Katrina and the Waves, Robin Lane and the Chartbusters . . . . damn . . .
Mike Lowell is kinda like Lazarus, except he never did die, and they didn't kill him. He hung in there, did as he was told, now he'll have a chance to play - another first pitch home run . . . . not bad. He deserves credit for being a decent person and being ready to go. Many others would have faltered. He is a clutch player, and will manage the Sox someday. He has the mental tools, and has dealt with success and failure.
